SANJAY GUPTA, MD - Airs Saturday 4:30PM - 5:00PM
This week on Sanjay Gupta MD, Sanjay special report "Deadly Dose."  Every 19 minutes in this country, someone dies of a drug overdose. Most of these drug overdoses are not from illicit drugs, but prescription drugs; perfectly legal, FDA-approved, ostensibly safe drugs - prescribed to millions of people every day.  What few people know is that accidental drug overdoses - which are fueled primarily by prescription drugs - kill more people than deaths due to heroin, crack & methamphetamines combined. Prescription drugs kill more people every year in the United States than car crashes.
